Rebecca has been cast in a workshop/reading of Jackie Sibblies Drury's new play, "Social Creatures" at NYC's Lark Play Development Center. The reading will take place Feb. 1, 2013. More details to follow.
Rebecca is thrilled to be joining Fiasco Theater and McCarter Theatre Center for a week-long workshop of "Into the Woods." A re-imagining of the musical theatre masterpiece, the 10 person cast will all take on multiple roles and help to create the underscoring.
Rebecca will be playing Jack's Mother, and Cinderella's Mother and Stepmother.
Rebecca has been tapped to narrate "An Intimate Life," by Cheryl Cohen Greene. This fascinating book is the source material for the award winning film "The Sessions," starring John Hawkes and Helen Hunt. A riveting memoir, it recounts not only the story portrayed in the movie, but many other touching tales from her life's work.
"The Lifeboat," a book I narrated this winter, has hit the New York Times Bestsellers list at #15! Audiofile Magazine says, "Gripping suspense swells throughout Rebecca Gibel's narration....Gibel ably performs the gruff voices of men and the accents of international passengers."
"Boeing Boeing" opens tonight at Trinity Rep!!
Just finished a second call-back for the national tour of Billy Elliot. Such a pleasure working with such creative and passionate folks! Fingers crossed.
Cross your twinkle toes! I've been called back for the roles of Billy's Mum and Mrs. Wilkinson in the National Tour of Billy Elliot.
