Rebecca Gibel plays Joanne Biles in CODA, the film that swept the Sundance Film Festival with the Grand Jury Award for Best Ensemble Cast, and went on to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, along with the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast. On stage, Gibel played Rosa in the first American production of Tom Stoppard's Leopoldstadt, staged by director Carey Perloff at Boston's Huntington Theatre and Washington's Shakespeare Theatre — a production honored with the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Play. She originated Virgie in the world premiere of Ro Reddick's Cold War Choir Practice at Trinity Rep, and played K.T. in Maria Friedman's Tony-winning staging of Merrily We Roll Along at the Huntington. Off stage, she has narrated more than 250 audiobooks for Audible, Disney, HarperCollins, and Hachette Audio, and teaches on-camera acting as a Visiting Lecturer at Brown University.
