Currently splitting time between NYC and Providence, RI, Ms. Gibel is a Resident Actor at Trinity Rep, a Founding Member of The Feast - a living wage theatre in Seattle, and has worked across the country and in television and film: playing a pivotal role in the 2021 Oscar-winning smash hit, “CODA,” directed by Sian Heder, recurring on seasons 1 & 2 of MGM+'s "Bridge and Tunnel," and AMC’s “NOS4A2,” with roles in Gary Dauberman's "Salem's Lot," opposite Jenna Ortega in "Finestkind," Sienna Miller in “American Woman, Mark Wahlberg in Netflix's “Spenser Confidential,” directed by Peter Berg, and with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in Adam McKay’s “Don’t Look Up.” Other appearances include NBC’s “Law & Order: SVU,” HBO’s “The Plot Against America,” and CBS's “Blue Bloods.”
Outside career pursuits, Rebecca loves…getting outside. An avid hiker and runner, she and her husband just hiked through the Accused Mountains of rural Albania, staying with shepherds along the way. (So much homemade cheese!) She hiked the Dingle Way in Ireland with her dad for his 70th birthday, and met her husband trekking the San Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado.
One of Rebecca's passions is developing new plays and musicals. She has developed new work with Trinity Rep, Huntington Theatre Company, The Coop, McCarter Theatre Center, Fiasco Theatre, Arden Theatre Company, Lark Play Development Center, Brown University, ArtsEmerson, Fault Line Theatre, and more.
In addition to stage and film work, Ms. Gibel can be heard voicing hundreds of characters in over 150 audiobooks for Audible, Inc., Disney, HarperAudio, MacMillan Audio, Dreamscape, Hachette Audio, and Tantor Media.
Rebecca's training includes an MFA from Brown University/Trinity Rep, a BA from the College of William and Mary, and 1 lonely month as a customer service rep for AOL.
